UK Visit Visa
Expert Guidance
AtExpert Consulting helps applicants from Bangladesh secure their UK Standard Visitor Visa — from document preparation to final approval. Professional, trusted, results-driven.
What Is the UK Visit Visa?
The UK Standard Visitor Visa (also called the UK Visit Visa) allows foreign nationals — including Bangladeshi citizens — to travel to the United Kingdom for tourism, family visits, business meetings, or short-term study for up to 6 months per visit. It is the most common UK visa issued globally.
You cannot take up employment, receive payment from a UK source, or access public funds on a Visit Visa. The visa does not lead to permanent residency.
Tourism & Sightseeing
Explore the UK's cities, heritage sites, countryside, and attractions as a leisure visitor.
Family & Friends
Visit relatives or friends who are residing or settled legally in the United Kingdom.
Business Visits
Attend conferences, meetings, training sessions, or negotiate contracts — without receiving UK payment.
Short-Term Study
Enrol in courses or academic programmes of up to 6 months, including English language courses.
Medical Treatment
Seek private medical treatment in the UK with supporting documentation from doctors.
Transit Through UK
Short transit stays at UK airports or passing through the UK en route to another country.
Do You Need a UK Visit Visa?
Not everyone is required to apply for a Standard Visitor Visa. The UK operates a three-tier entry system based on nationality. Bangladeshi nationals are visa nationals and must apply for a Standard Visitor Visa before travelling to the UK.
Visa Nationals
Must apply for a Standard Visitor Visa in advance. Entry will be automatically refused without a valid visa. Bangladesh is in this category.
ETA Nationals
Citizens of countries like USA, Canada, and Australia need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) instead of a full visa for short visits.
No Visa Needed
A small number of nationalities — primarily EEA and some Commonwealth citizens — may enter without prior authorisation for short stays.
Eligibility Criteria
To be granted a UK Standard Visitor Visa, all applicants must satisfy the following conditions set by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). A strong application addresses each of these clearly and with documentary evidence.
Genuine Intention to Visit
You must have a credible, clearly stated reason for visiting the UK — tourism, family visit, business, or study. Your application must be consistent and believable.
Strong Intention to Leave the UK
You must demonstrate you will leave the UK before your visa expires. Strong home ties — employment, property ownership, family responsibilities in Bangladesh — are essential evidence.
Sufficient Financial Funds
You must show you can fully fund your trip and stay without needing public funds. Bank statements (3–6 months), salary slips, and income evidence are required.
Clean Immigration History
You must have complied with immigration rules in any previous visas — UK or other countries. Previous refusals or overstays must be disclosed and explained.
Valid Travel Document
Your Bangladeshi passport must be valid for the full period of your intended stay in the UK. Your passport must also have blank pages for visa endorsement.
No Prohibited Activities
You must not intend to work, take employment, claim benefits, or engage in activities that are not permitted on a Standard Visitor Visa.
Required Documents
Submitting a complete and consistent set of documents is critical to a successful UK Visit Visa application. All documents should be original or certified copies. Any document not in English must be accompanied by a certified professional translation.
Valid Bangladeshi Passport
Must be valid for the full period of your stay. Include all previous passports.

Tips for a Successful Application
Based on years of experience assisting Bangladeshi applicants, AtExpert Consulting has identified the key factors that make or break a UK Visit Visa application.
Prepare Bank Statements Carefully
Statements must show consistent funds without sudden large deposits. Unexplained cash deposits raise serious concerns for UKVI officers.
Write a Strong Cover Letter
A professionally written cover letter explaining your visit purpose, ties to Bangladesh, and financial situation greatly improves approval chances.
Prove Ties to Bangladesh
Employment letters, property deeds, business registration documents, and family responsibilities all demonstrate your intention to return home.
Ensure All Details Match
Every document — name spelling, dates, amounts — must be consistent across your entire application. Discrepancies lead to suspicion and refusal.
Use gov.uk Only
Apply exclusively through the official UK government website. Third-party sites charge unnecessary fees and may submit incorrect information.
Seek Professional Help
AtExpert Consulting prepares every client's application with care — increasing success rates and reducing the risk of costly refusals significantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions from Bangladeshi applicants about the UK Visit Visa process.
Standard processing from Bangladesh typically takes 3–4 weeks after biometric submission at VFS Global. Priority service (5 working days) and Super Priority (next working day) options are available at VFS Dhaka for an additional fee.
There is no fixed minimum, but as a general guide, you should show enough to cover all flight costs, accommodation, and living expenses for your entire trip — typically the equivalent of £2,000–£5,000+ depending on trip length. Funds should be consistent and not recently deposited.
No. The UK Standard Visitor Visa strictly prohibits any form of paid employment. Working in the UK on a visit visa is an illegal overstay condition and will result in deportation, a ban from future UK travel, and potential criminal prosecution.
Yes, you can reapply after a refusal. There is no waiting period, but you must address the specific reasons given for the refusal. AtExpert Consulting specialises in analysing refusal letters and preparing stronger reapplications that directly address the concerns raised by UKVI.
Each family member must apply for their own individual Standard Visitor Visa. Applications can be submitted together and assessed as a family unit, but each person pays their own fee and receives their own visa in their own passport.
In most cases, no. The Standard Visitor Visa cannot normally be extended beyond 6 months. You must leave the UK before your visa expires. Overstaying has very serious consequences including a ban on future UK visa applications.
